Vintage Seiko Lord Matic 5606-7000 1968 Silver Watch

Vintage Seiko Lord Matic LM Automatic 5606-7000 from 1968, an embodiment of Seiko's 'grammar of design' at an exceptional value. Featuring a brushed front, polished sides, and distinctive indices on the dial, this Kanji/English day-date watch comes the original 5606-7000 rivet bracelet and clasp. Despite wear on the case and very minor scratches on the acrylic crystal, it is still in pristine cosmestic condition.

This is a very early example of the 5606-7000, from the first production year. In the early production dates, the 7000 case was still one-piece watch and could only be opened by removing the crystal and lifting the dial. In the early 60s they also still used printed text for "Lord Matic" instead of applied logo.

The watch operates well, displaying a deviation of about -15 to +30/s per day, while the quickset date- still works, the quickset day is broken, which is something that often breaks on the 5606 caliber because of the use of a plastic quickset star.

Ā A service is recommended for daily use, but not yet necessary in my opinion.
